FamiLy care

new Yorkers — mostLy women, especiaLLy women of coLor — provide criticaL care to kids and eLders. We must end the market faiLures that make care so expensive.

  • Universal pre-K is a powerful tool to improve kids’ future rates of high school graduation and employment, and to decrease incarceration and unintended pregnancy. High-quality early education should be provided to kids statewide.

  • Childcare is far too costly for many New Yorkers to access. We must offer state-funded child-care to low-income parents.

  • The median annual income for homecare workers in NY is just $22K, hardly a livable wage. We must pass the Fair Pay for Home Care Act to boost these wages—an investment in critical care infrastructure that will pay for itself.

ALL new Yorkers must be abLe to Live and care for each other with dignity.

Investments in early education, childcare, and home care are smart—but more importantly, they are moral imperatives.
